The table top grinder

The table top grinder is a wet grinder that can be used to grind products using water. An essential electrical appliance in every South Indian kitchen, the wet grinder earlier used to be quite heavy and a huge machine kept on the floor. But today is has become lighter and risen to the table top and is now called a table top wet grinder. This table top wet grinder is the modern version of what used to be a huge round rock which had a cup –like hole in the center of the stone. A cylindrical but slightly long stone was placed in the center. This cylinder had a wooden stick to be held as a handle. This cylindrical stone was then rotated manually, and was used to grind grains and lentils. It was also used to grind huge amounts of coconut during a feast
